My headache specialist wanted to put me on Midrin but as many patients are aware, it is discontinued. In addition, I couldn't take the pill form anyway due to allergies to an ingrediant in most pills and my acetaminophen/liver problem. However, he has been working with a compounding pharmacy for his Midrin patients. I'm now on a compounded Midrin formula where the acetaminophen has been replaced with the daily amount of naproxen sodium I've also been prescribed and a caffine boost has been added to counter my sedative issues. I don't like the extra drive to the compounding pharmacy but "Whoot!" -- compounding to the rescue...

Hi there,
That is great to hear you've found something that works for you. You're careful not to get caught up in a medication overuse cycle, right?
