I'm a long time migraine sufferer in a family of sufferers.  All 3 of my children have them along with my husband.  In addition, many other family members deal with them.

I also have fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, autoimmune thyroid disease, endometrosis, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

In the last year, I have gone back to walking.  I used to walk 45 minutes to an hour every day.  One of the reasons I picked up on the fibromyalgia was that I could no longer do that.  Last April, I started wearing a pedomenter and trying to do the 10,000 steps per day.  I walk aerobically up to 3 times per day but in shorter durations.  It's helped the fibro pain a lot.  I even find that it helps migraines if they aren't too bad (as long as I wear my sunglasses!)  I've lost 38 lbs.

Most of my migraines now are sleep involved as I struggle with sleep.  I went off ambien after 4+ years of using that and lunesta.  I feel better overall but worse when my sleep interruptions get really bad since that triggers migraines.  Now, I'm taking lunesta for 2-3 days when the interruptions trigger more than 1 migraine in a week.  It seems to be working.
