just going day to day

By cheleinms Sunday, March 01, 2009

It has been quiet a while since  I last shared with ya'll. I have been taken off all meds due to my neuro treating me like a drug addict. So  i have been looking for a more sympathic dr. I am unfortunaltly in an area where there is a great deal of drug abuse so I am one of those who is lumped in with those that abuse even though I have no history of it. I have found accidently that extra iron in my diet has a slight affect on the number I get every month. Since I have switched to splenda they have calmed a bit and the iron has healped even more. I now only have them two or three times a week and that is great for me. I will share more as I have the time. I hope everyone gets the chance to get better I know I would like to get better and not just get by.

Thanks for updating us. If we've talked about keeping a Migraine diary, please forgive me, but this is a great tool for you and your doctor to see what is and isn't working to stop and/or triggering your Migraines. Splenda can trigger a Migraine for some people. Our free Migraine diary is HERE. We also have great information on Migraine triggers you can find on our Migraine trigger page HERE.

Have you looked at our patient recommend Migraine specialist list? There may not be a specialist in your state, but one in LA that wouldn't be too far to travel too.

Doctors they really #### me off....I to had to find another Neuro the one I found was a blessing.  I have not been treated like a drug addict she has been most sympathetic with me.  I too suffer from migraines on a weekly basis anywhere from 3-5 a week sometimes NON stop pain.  I have everything that comes with these horrible things like the vomiting for 8hrs straight to light sensitivity etc...I am so so so sorry your suffering so much and even more sorry that your Neuro was a JERK.  I know that there are many people seeking drugs but I think they should be able to tell.  I went to the hospital sick as a dog with a migraine holding a towel to my eyes and my husband took care of giving them my info while I sat and wanted to die.  I recall that day so well there was a lady sitting in front of me with a blanket, sunglasses, pillow, icebag etc....I sat there and tried to find a comfy position when all of a sudden I feel a tap on my shoulder and it was the lady she said "Do you have a migraine?" I said yes she was like me too and walked away.  She sat there for the three hours we waited talking to everyone, laughing and as soon as she would see the nurse would sit down and put on a show.  I was livid because of IDIOTS like that obviously seeking drugs we the "real" migraine sufferers get treated like drug seekers.  this is not the first time I have seen this happen either its unreal.   so in a way I feel bad for Drs but I think you can truly tell who is suffering and well who is NOT like that lady.  I dont know if all migraine sufferers are the same with this but, when I have one my blood pressure is SKY HIGH when on the norm it is normal.   I cant laugh, smile, walk around because any movement triggers more vomiting more throbbing more agony.   I see you mentioned using splenda? that triggers migraines also.  I thought I would be ok with it too but NOPE you may want to try Agave it is very sweet it is from the Agave plant and is wonderful its ALL natural.  I dont know if you have a Sprouts grocery store as I dont know where you are from but if you do try it you will love it.  I can notice a weird taste in stuff but not with this it is goooood.  Write me anytime I completely understand and am sorry you are going through this and hope you find a KIND Doc.
