Migraines, Daily Headaches, cervicogenic headaches
Propranolol, Fluoxetine, Zanaflex and Zomig
I was in a wreck about 3 yrs ago and suffered a herniated disc at c4-5 for which I had surgery. I also suffered injuries to my left shoulder and elbow. Both of which have had corrective surgery. Since the wreck I have had daily headaches and migraines 5-7 times monthly. ( some lasting 2 or more days) I have been unable to return to work.
I have a neurologist who is a headache specialist. We have tried many combinations of meds for preventive measures. I have also had several sets of facet injections, the first 2 sets gave me sbout 2 days of some relief the last set did nothing. I have been through a series of various types physical therpies, relaxation techniques, bio-feedback and so on. We are now looking at Botox injections but insurance does not want to pay. We'll keep trying.
My TENS unit, ice packs and Nexium (because of all the meds I have taken and currently take) have become my best friends.
I enjoy reading, sewing, cooking, gardening and various other crafts. All of which have become increasingly difficult to do with my migraines and residual neck pain, limited range of motion and back spasms in the thoracic region.
I have a wonderful husband,a 17 yr old son, a 28 yr old son and daughter-in-law and 8 cats (or should I say my hubby's cats since he is the one who keeps bringing them home).
