Educating a Doctor

I have finally been released from all but 1 of my DRs. I guess I'll always have my migraine specialist. Anyway, while I was at my orthopedic dr last week we were discussing my migraines and he said "my father suffers from true migraines" as if mine were not "TRUE" migraines. Needless to say this ruffled my feathers a little. So, I took this rare moment to briefly educate him in migraines a neurological disease....

Some relief from the new meds

The Effexor XR seems to be helping some with the bluesie cranky mood. Also I have been able to sleep much better. Only waking up once or twice for a short period of time. Not the 2-4 hours at a time I'm use to. When I get up I feel rested and energized! As far as the migraines go I'm still having 2-3 per week. Next week I am increasing the effexor to 150 mg. Hopefully that will do the trick. I need to learn to pace myself with this...

I feel human again!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is doing well. Hubby and I have had the flu for the past 8 days or so. I actually feel like I'm among the living again...lol. I feel great this morning. Almost too great if you know what I mean. Tons of energy! It's not quite 7:00 am and I have already washed 3 loads of laundry, ironed hubbies uniforms for the week, cooked breakfast, washed dishes and fed the cats....

Trying to stay positive

All my life I have been the positive one. I love to make others smile or chuckle. I'm always the one to give words of encouragement. I always try to see the positive in all situations. Always seeing the good in people and giving the benefit of the doubt. I miss the old me! I am trying desperately to get back to the way I was. I want to laugh freely again. I started today withhelping out a new neighbor of mine. There are 5 of them that...

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement! This morning hasn't exactly started out pain-free. I've been up since 2:00am with an entire percussion band practicing in my head. However, I am trying to approach the day counting my blessings instead of complaining. I am thankful for my friends and family, a wonderful husband, and a terrific son (who by the wat was a miracle baby). I am thankful for a roof over my head, food to eat and...

Say a prayer for me

It has been several days since I've written a post. I've tried several times but the words just won't come to me. I am in such a fog both mentally and emotionally. I have dove head first into the blues. It is pity party central here. The migraines will not take a day off! I will NEVER take a good day for granted again! Anyway, please say a little prayer for me! Meanwhile I am going to work on improving my attitude. Wish me...

Moody, moody, moody!

If this migraine cycle doesn't give soon I will run everyone away! I am as cranky as an old bitty! My neighbor came over last night to return a casserole dish and as I went to the door I told my hubby that when we move I never want to even say hey to a neighbor...I think she heard me because earlier this morning I said hey and she blew me off. The cats, my hubby, everything and everybody is getting on my nerves! My hubby tries to be...

After 2 (yes...TWO) good days the crap begins! Let's see... a visit to my gp, a mamagram to check a lump in my breast (everything was ok), two appointments for blood work and an appointment with the foot doc today ...so glad I gave myself a pedicure the other day... and to top it all off another migraine! Zomig has been of no help. Guess I'll just have to ride it out. Oh yeah let's not forget one of my crowns fell out and of...

So far...so good

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day. Whe I tell you that I am praying for you I hope you believe me. Not a day goes by that I don't say a prayer for all of us, family members and friends alike. It's 8:30 am and so far so good. No headache right now. So why am I wasting time to write? Well, I figure I spend enough time complaining when times are rough so why not spend a few minutes sharing good news!...
