My son started getting migraines and ocular disturbance and numbness in hands and face and we discovered it always happened after using a certain computer game. We binned  the game and he has never had a problem since (6 yrs)

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Migraine is a genetic neurological disease thought to be caused by overactive neurons in our brains and genetics. I bet there is someone in your family who has Migraines. A computer game could possibly trigger a Migraine attack for someone who is susceptible to the noise, light and sound of that particular game. It is not unheard of.

Thanks for your post.  My son is 7 now and is complaining of headaches now.  I am sure the computer and the gamecube contribute to them.  I try to keep him off of those  devices, but it's difficult.  I was wondering about medications for him at his age.  I have taken him to the doctor who suggests medications.  I might have to get a second opinion, because she didn't examine his activities or diet.  Anyways, he refuses to take medication of any type and will puke it back up.  They are not real frequent, not like my 14 year old daughter and myself.

Hi Vicki...Just take the computer game away so your son cannot use it. I would not give my son any medication until i had tried that first.

Thanks for the advice, it turns out to be a confirmation.

Hi,

That's is some tough love - but necessary. No game - no Migraine. Simple and easy. Is it with every game, or just that certain one?
