My Expensive Traveling Migraines

My migraines follow me where ‘er I go

From Indy to Tennessee and Idaho

To points up North and Cities South

From Mississippi to work place crowds

When in the shower they'll come through hot water

Get in my head and cause me much bother

They hide in the onions, the garlic and yeast

The citrus, salami and my favorite cheese

Not to mention other fine foods

Denied when my triggers together exude

They hide in perfume and other strong scents

To fly up my nose giving my poor brain rents

Flying the air in changing weather patterns

Falling on me causing my brain to scatter

Worst of all when my sweet wife wants to snuggle

We know when it's o'er I'll be having a struggle

(Sometimes-but it's worth it of course honey babe)

Yes traveling migraines won't leave me alone

Whether right in my kitchen or miles from home

They follow me, jump on me, climb in my head,

Come through my nose, mouth, attack me in bed

So traveling now I will not eschew

Injectable drugs and pills not a few

My travel bags now are heavily weighed

With stuff that my insurance and me have paid

A hefty price and high co-pay quite certain

To cause me the pain of a ‘graine with much hurtin'
