I forgot to mention something that may be important. A condition called Intracranial Hypertension, formerly called Pseudotumor Cerebri, is usually diagnosed by a spinal tap. In IH, our body either produces too much cerebrospinal fluid or doesn't absorb it properly. Symptoms can include, but are not limited to: chronic head pain which can be severe and is not relieved by medication, tinnitus, hearing loss, and papilledema. However, some doctors may tell you if you don't have papilledema you don't have IH, that simply is not true. I don't have papilledema, but do have IH. An ophthalmologist is an eye doctor to see for this.
Let me know if you have more questions on this condition. I will help if I can.
Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
Unfortunately at this time Migraine disease is not curable. It is a genetic neurologcial condition that has flare ups - these are the Migraine attacks. Anatomy of a Migraine does a great job of explaining the four phases of an attack.
Twenty five days of pain during the month certainly doesn't leave you with many good days does it? I'm sorry to hear you are suffering so, but try not to lose hope. There are things you can take to feel better even though it may seem like you have tried every drug out there. It really isn't possible because there are over 100 drugs being used for Migraine prevention.
Another important thing to do is see a Migraine specialist. This doctor can properly diagnose you and develop a preventive plan along with rescue and abortive medications.
