Welcome to Rob's Migraine Blog

By Rob Streno Wednesday, June 14, 2006

The doctor listened (and I mean really listened) to me, and told me that my sinus headaches had nothing to do with sinuses at all. The flashy lights in my eyes weren’t an acid flashback, but were, in fact, a sign of migraine with aura-- and the upset stomach that I would get with the headaches was also a classic sign. The increased frequency was just something that sometimes happened, but I should also start keeping a migraine diary to see if I could identify anything in my lifestyle that could be triggering the migraines (like food, caffeine, alcohol, etc.).

He also gave me some samples of a medication called Maxalt (a triptan) to try the next time I got an aura, or felt a migraine coming on. To this day, Maxalt is still one of my don’t-leave-the-house without it medications, and it has had an amazing effect on how I can live my life in the face of migraines. Unfortunately, though, my real battle with migraine was just starting at this point.

I'll fill you in on the rest of the story, where I am now, and what I can share about coping with migraines in my next blogs. Keep reading . . .

any link to migraine headaches, and some have pointed out that compact fluorescents may even flicker less than incandescent bulbs.
