Well, where do I start...After high school I joined the Air Force Reserves.  Spent 6 years at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station in NY.  During my time in the Air Force I was attending college and graduated in 1994.  I made the rank of Staff Sergeant and then got out in 1996.  A lot of BS was going on and I didn't want any part of it.  I moved to Florida and only stayed there for about 5 months and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio.  There I worked for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office in the Scientific Identification Unit scanning criminal photos into the computer.  I did that for a year until I took the test to be a Deputy Sheriff.  Well, to my surprise I passed that with flying colors and I became a Deputy back in May 1997.  I spent two years up in Ohio working in the Courts Division, Patrol Division and Transportation Division until I moved again and went back to Florida where I took my out-of-state law enforcement course which lasted for 2 weeks and then took the state exam.  I then became a Deputy for Marion County here in Florida.  I worked in the Courts.  I liked that because I had set hours, though I did have a lot of overtime.  I was going through a rough time, health-wise so I resigned from that.  After taking some time off I then  became a Probation Officer for the Salvation Army of Corrections.  I totally loved that job.  I had definitely found my calling but unfortunately my health deteriorated which caused me to resign from that job.  I was so devastated.  I am now disabled and unable to work or drive.   I have been disabled since November 2003.  I have my good days but more so bad days.  I have been in and out of doctor offices and hospitals.  I spent a year and a half at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.  I have been put through the ringer and have had just about every test imaginable.  The doctor's tell me that I have a rare form of migraine disease called Hemiplegic Migraine which causes stroke like symptoms.  The whole right side of my face droops.  I am so tired of all this, but at least I get up every morning plant my feet on the floor and put a smile on my face or at least try to.  I just have to try and take everything in stride.
