Hi, New to Site, Hemiplegic Migraine 6 months

By wendyg Thursday, May 01, 2008

I have had migraines since childhood.  In December, had the scariest experience!  Hemiplegic migraine.  Still struggling to get it under control.  Good days and bad days.  I just saw my neuro today.  Another change in meds.  Next step may be spinal tap.  Anyway, not letting it slow me down, just having to find new ways to do things.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Hemiplegic Migraine is a rare form of Migraine disease that can be a challenge to treat. While a neurologist may be a fine doctor, it is difficult for them to be an expert in any one area because they treat so many different conditions. A Migraine/headache specialist is the expert who would be best suited to treat someone with Hemiplegic Migraine. We have a list of patient recommended specialists HERE.
