My migraines have become unbearable in the last four years and I had to resort to taking a daily preventative medicine. After trying a few, I'm now taking a daily dose of Zonegran with some success, but have notice a new set of symptoms after a migraine attack and was wondering if anyone had any advice.
I usually take Zomig (sometimes Relpax) with an Ultram or Fiorcet at the onset of a migraine and then try to sleep for an hour or more. Lately, I've found that I am completely lethargic for the rest of the day after the migraine has passed. I'm confused, at a loss for words, a little sad and basically unable to function, but not because of the migraine. This has become just as frustrating as having the migraine in the first place!
Any thoughts? Until the last month, I was experiencing 3-4 migraine days a week and am now down to 1 or 2 days a week.

hello, I hope I can answer your question. I have alot a migraines too. I have had them since birth. I take a Imitrex nasal spray at onset. If I feel my migrainenis going to be very bad, I go ahead and take the imitrex injection. They both are really helpful. You can actually feel the headache passing. Imitrex usually makes me sleepy. I used to take a daily preventative called Topamax. I don't take it anymore because, I became immune to it. I don't need the prevenative at this time. I will need some other kind of preventative in the future. My body has always worked that way. I have tried the medication you take. They did not work for me. It was like drinking a glass of water. In other words, the medicine did not phase my migraines. It also helps me to sit directly in front of a fan. Doing that makes me feel more comfortable. I hope I have helped you. If you want to chat or ask more questions please, feel free to contact me anytime. Have a great week. Oh yeah, Prayer ALWAYS helps!
