Got my Midrin refill today

By Doah Friday, July 20, 2007

Hi all, I was reading shared posts last night and was shocked to read about everyone having problems getting their Midrin filled.  I have been taking Midrin for about a month as needed for my CDH's but no more than 2-3 days a week, ofcourse.

I called my pharmacy 1st think this morning all worried that I wouldn't get my refill and was prepared to call every pharmacy in the state.  It's the only drug that has any effect on my headaches after 8 months of sudden onset CDH.

My pharmacist said he didn't know about Midrin being pulled off the market.  He did say that he had a back order in for Midrin for over a month.  I asked him about generics and he said he had plenty.  So luckily I got my generic refill ($5.00 copay for generics vs. $125 for Midrin brand name).  I'm also going to wait the 10 days or so until my insurance company will let me refill again, eventhough it takes me much much longer to finish the prescription.  And I'm going to get my last refill so I'm stocked up incase it's really not available any more.

Thanks again for posting, I never would have known.
