I can see the light after 30 years of Migraine

By yrn2learn Monday, June 30, 2008

I have suffered from cycle related migraines since the age of 18 , I am now 48 and have been taking a green tea supplement since Nov. I have had what I would call great improvement.  I have tried Zomig and Imitrex and used both over the past ten years with some success. My green tea tablet regimine consists of two tablets per day and a spray upon the slighest sensation that migraine is developing. I also had tried other supplement combinations but this one seems to work for me. I have only had auora , no full blown episodes since Nov. Of 07.  I thought nothing so simple could help. The product that is use is a highly concentrated quality green tea product and I think each person can adjust the amount taken over a couple of months. I really can't believe I am migraine free and I still wait for the next one. I hope that day never comes! I would welcome any comments and questions concerning my success. I am an Art teacher , I felt my students bright and sunny flowers reflect my new found joy!

Yes, I too stumbled across a remedy for migraines and it was Organic, Green Tea.  I have several migraine triggers, but the ones that begin with an initial feeling of depression are the ones that are aided by the tea.  I let the tea bag brew between 8 -10 min and notice that my mood is lifted within 30 minutes or so.  Prior to finding the tea, I tried taking alka seltzer gold (that's the one without the aspirin) and it helped me (sometimes) especially when my ph level was too acidic.  It's over a month since my last migraine and believe me, that's a record for me as I've been suffering with this pain for approximately 30 years.

Interesting...where do you buy this? What about it do you think helps?

 Nebula,

The Green tea tabs and spray that I  use I got by searching alternative migraine relief. I found  http://brainpainout.com/ which features a product called Micrainium. After reading up on the use of green tea to fight migraine pain I feel the help lies in the amino acids which aid or help keep levels of seretonin where if should be to combat pain when it occurs.  I am no expert but I believe this therory has worked for me. If you try it make sure and check with your Dr. first. I have had no problems or issues with it interacting with my daily perscriptions. I do feel is is important to find a high quality green tea supplement not the typical drug store issue.  If you care to know more details about my success and how I got there, I would be happy to provide.  I recently passed through aura and what typically would have rolled right on into full blown migraine but it subsided and eased off once again as it has for the past seven months. My migraine potential is still there but I have found something that keeps them at bay.

I've had migraines since I was 5 years old.  I am now 30 and still suffer daily.  I also have about 2 or 3 severe migraines a month where I am bedbound, vomiting, etc. on top of the daily headaches.  The only thing that has helped is vicodin.  I have seen so many neurologists, and tried all the medications out there.  Do you think this micranium could help me?

I certainly think it is worth a try you can visit their website at brainpaingo.com or brainpainout.com to get more info.  It took just one month for it to help me but others it has taken up to two months. It is all natural and safe. It has worked for me. Mine were related to my cycle and occured about the same time each month.

Hope the pain gets better

I recently stumbled upon green tea relieving migraines (about 2 weeks ago).  I have several migraine triggers and notice that if I feel depression right before a migraine strikes, the green tea helps me feel better (and the migraine doesn't occur) within approximately 30 minutes.  I was suffering with these headaches for 30 years and nothing worked except for triptan drugs.  Prior to green tea, I recently tried alka seltzer gold (that's the one without the aspirin) and it helped a few times (depending on the trigger) as it alkalized my system.  I'm glad I found information supporting and confirming the green tea migraine cure.  I don't like having to take Rx.  Thanks for your posts!

Sincerely,

Ann S.

The Green tea treatment option sounds enticing. Indeed, Green tea is generally regarded as being one of the best things for you. But, I worry that the caffeine content of the Green tea will stimulate my photophobia and migraine. Are the people for whom Green tea has worked still drinking caffeine?

Regarding the caffeine... I know that there are some headache medicines that actually have caffeine in them and help some headaches, but I've stopped drinking other beverages while taking the green tea.  I used to drink coffee and black tea occassionally, but didn't want to over do it.  I don't know how it will affect your photophobia (by the way I read somewhere that rose color glasses help better than dark sunglasses for some people with that affliction).  I only drink 2 cups of green tea, but if I feel depressed after the 2 cups, I'll have a 3rd cup.  I know that the healthfood store also sells green tea extract, but I haven't researched or tried the product since the actual tea is helping me.  Plus, I think it's a little cheaper to drink the tea than take the extract.  I'm assuming that the extract has caffeine in it too, but that may be something you can look in to.  If it doesn't, then maybe that's your best bet?  Good luck to you!

Oops, I have a  correction.  Above, I stated that I stopped drinking other beverages.  I meant to say that I stopped drinking other beverages with caffeine and in addition to the green tea.  Of course I drink plenty of water, etc.
