All I wish that people who don't know
about migraine should educate themselves on it and not be selfish
towards the person who has it. It is hard enough to try telling the
person that you can't go or do anything because you are having one of

Hi, Mellie. I, too, feel that people who do not get migraines and/or severe headaches should educate themselves so they can better understand what we go through. I have had to cancel plans many times because I had a migraine. A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were supposed to go camping with some friends, but had to cancel because I was in bed with a migraine. I haven't talked to that friend since. I can see it from her point that I have to cancel plans once in a while, but I think she should be more understanding. Fortunately, the people who count the most, my husband, parents, siblings, and other family members understand and are very helpful to me when I am unable to do things because of my headaches. Hang in there!!

I agree, most people don't realize we are not in contol of our lives- a headache can knock us off our feet at any time. If someone has the flu and has to cancel plans they understand, a migraine can have the same effect or worse. I wish people would get that it's not just a regular headache! Actually for me I would rather have the flu, the pain's not so bad.
