Hey - how is your diet? Are you in college? For me - stress and diet are big triggers. When I was 18 and in college my migraines became an everyday thing. I'm 21 now and and it is only recently that I have taken the necessary life style changes to improve my condition. I have to manage my stress, eat healthy and exercise. I would advise you to keep experimenting with preventatives. I know that it is a long, frustrating process but you don't have any other choice if you think about it. Sometimes I feel like more medication isn't the answer. The medication can't help all by itself if you aren't eating right, sleeping well and exercising.

No im not in college. My diet is pretty good i eat a lot of greens and proteins along with fruit. I try and drink more water than anything else. I sometimes have gone through a lot of stress because of things that my mom has and that she doesnt have much longer to live herself. I have had these migraines though for almost 4 years they have ran CT scans and MRI's. Does being anemic have anything to do with it that you know of????

    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Migraine is a genetic neurologic condition distinguished by flare-ups that are called Migraine attacks. Migraines can be managed with lifestyle changes, trigger identification and management, abortive, preventive and rescue medications when needed.

Trigger management (after you've identified any triggers you may have with our Migraine diary) include drinking more water before you exercise so you don't get dehyrated and sticking to a routine sleeping schedule. Our Trigger Management page will help you with this.  You may be surprised what may trigger a Migraine in some people.

This may be a good time to talk about stress and Migraines. Here's the thing. Stress does not cause a Migraine, it makes our bodies are more susceptible to our triggers.

We have a wonderful podcast on this topic you can find HERE.

It may feel like you have tried all the Migraine preventive medications that are available, but that really isn't possible. There are over 100 different medications used for Migraine prevention. After you add the combinations - the list seems endless.

Well, my suggestion is keep a journal of what you eat and take. See if there are triggers. Also, I know from this being genetic, that it's a curse handed down to us. So......just keep trying to find something for a preventive, and an abortive medication. Have you tried Midrin? It's an abortive medicine. Of course you need to eat right sleep right, and all that, and I do all those things, and still get migraines. So......just dont' give up. Keep praying, and don't lose hope. I know easy for me to say. But, truthfully, I do know how it is. Hang in there.
