I am an 18 yr old female who has had Migraines for the last 3 years or so my Mother also gets them and has had them for many years. When she last went to the doctor they told her that is was a genetic disorder of what she has. I have been tried on many different medications such as anti depressents channel blockers i have been put on max alt, midrin, butalbital , vicodin, ibrprofin, naproxen, i have received toradol shots and im allergic to stadol. Im currently taking verapmil and that some what helps control them my last migrane i had was one that lasted more than 2 weeks and i went through 3 toradol shots 1 toradol pill, naproxen, midrin, Neurontin, imitrex, Relpax, Nortriptyline, butalbital, the doctors even gave Percocet and that seemed to be the only pill that helped me control it to where i didnt have to go and get a shot but then I knocked me out for quite sometime. so if you can help please do so and comment me back on this.

Hey - how is your diet? Are you in college? For me - stress and diet are big triggers. When I was 18 and in college my migraines became an everyday thing. I'm 21 now and and it is only recently that I have taken the necessary life style changes to improve my condition. I have to manage my stress, eat healthy and exercise. I would advise you to keep experimenting with preventatives. I know that it is a long, frustrating process but you don't have any other choice if you think about it. Sometimes I feel like more medication isn't the answer. The medication can't help all by itself if you aren't eating right, sleeping well and exercising.
No im not in college. My diet is pretty good i eat a lot of greens and proteins along with fruit. I try and drink more water than anything else. I sometimes have gone through a lot of stress because of things that my mom has and that she doesnt have much longer to live herself. I have had these migraines though for almost 4 years they have ran CT scans and MRI's. Does being anemic have anything to do with it that you know of????
