Chinese Miracle

By Brenda Sansom Wednesday, May 28, 2008

THE CHINESE MIRACLE

I have suffered from Cluster Migraines since the age of 8, they were diagnosed by my local GP in 1958 as a Bowel Problem. The doctor gave me Aspirin and Epsom Salts.

Throughout my teens the Migraines were diagnosed as Epileptic Fits, Blood Disorders and Hormone Problems.

After I got married and started to raise a family the doctors changed the diagnosis to Stress, Stress of having children, Stress of your husband being away, Stress of family life, all good reasons I thought then.

Migraleve came onto the market and was tried, this took away the headache but not the wavy lines, Migran was tried and took away the wavy lines but not the headache. It was recommended that I did not take both tablets together.

Other treatments were Acupuncture in Ireland by a Chinese doctor and a foot massage in Singapore which some friends told us about.

How wrong they can be, I have traveled the world with my husband who is an Expat and have treatments in Indonesia, Abu Dhabi and South Korea. Little or nothing worked until I heard of a revolutionary treatment called Medigen.

After seeking out a doctor in Sheffield I went along for the tests and for 16 years carried a Medigen around my neck. This worked in periods and kept my causes at bay. It did not work however when I started to suffer Cluster Migraines in series of 6 to 10 in a few days.

The Medigen was recalibrated many times and worked when it wanted.

My husband who had suffered with me throughout all these years then said lets try something different.

At this time we were based in China and my husband was talking to a local Chinese doctor about getting some medicine for his sleeping problems. This worked on him so he talked me into going to see the local doctor.

I was surprised when faced with a very young (around 28 years) doctor who explained that the Eastern and Western methods of treatment are very different. I learned about the Ying and Yang effect on our bodies and was told that he could help but this would not be a short term treatment.

As I had 6 Migraines in the previous 3 days I was prepared to try anything, he prescribed some herbal medicine in large bottles which I took 4 times a day before meals.

It tasted horrible but my husband who was sleeping soundly again said try and persevere.

After 1 week I was feeling a little better and had one small dizzy spell, the doctor then changed the medicine to another local brew. This tasted even worse but is doing the job.

It has been nearly 3 weeks and I have had no Migraines. It is the first time in years when I can safely walk about alone, enjoy shopping and smile again.

I am still in China and enjoying life with my husband, I still take the treatments and know it will be sometime before they finish. The doctor has said he is pleased with the improvements and can in time cure me completely.

After all the treatments and thousands of pounds spent on traditional Western medicine, I am paying 30 pence a bottle for a Chinese Cure.

How very interesting a life you have led! (Not the head pain part - but traveling around the world - so I guess being able to experience "real" treatments in other parts of the world for it). I am glad that you have found something that is working for you. It is also interesting that many people that poopoo Eastern/herbal medicine forget that many of our Western medicines initially come from the strangest places. (One recently introduced diabetes medication originally came from lizard saliva! Of course then they are chemically made but who would ever think to test some of the things they do and how do they figure out such things work for certain problems????)

Anyways, you seem to have found a smart doctor there. I hope he continues to help you and when you are ready to leave that area he is able to refer you to others who can continue to prescribe the same "prescription". Best wishes to you - I'm very glad you have found relief!
