Many who experience Migraines can often experience dehydration during the period they are experiencing pain. One of the things I have discoveed that helps a lot and tends to taste better (if you are able to take anything orally), is Coconut Water. All of the magazine literature I have read indicates that electrolyte replacement prodcuts that you buy in the store, only replace 2-3 electrolytes at most. The coconumt water generally contains all available. I had an intractable migraine over the weekend of July 4, 2010. I had a magnesium infusion and ended up with a 5-day wwekend, and one I needed to work. I had had a magnesium infusion on 7/2/10, but that's all that th;ey got into me. I kept blowing the IV. So I was finally sent home with the prescription to drink lots of water and at that time Coco Vitat.
I literrally laid really low, with the exception of going out for containers of ice. It worked really well/. Not only did it taste good, but it by Tuesday I was no longer dehydraed, and my doctor could finally find my veins.
The brand by Conchita comes with no sweeteener, so its'' The Vita cocoo is not suppose to have additional sugar added, Goya is sweetened. It is not carbonated.
try it
It's also refreshing any other time.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the info. You sound like me last week with my IV fusion. Thought it was successful, but now not so sure...
I will check out the coconut water for sure....
Feel well
Nancy
Nancy,
There are several types of coconut water. CocoVita offers plain and a couple of flavors Mango/peach and Acai/Pomegranate.
Goya has been sweetened, doesn't taste quite so good.
Conchita has both unsweetened and sweetened. I prefer the unsweetened, it also has bits of coconut in it.
It can be a flavor that needs getting used to, but over ice, it's really yummy, and tastes so much better than gatorade or pedialyte
Thanks I'll check them out!
