I am getting my life back and continue to Reclaim my Brain

I started Namenda in early December for Mild Cognitive Impairment, but had a wonderful side effect.  The daily migraines I have had since April started getting less intense and I even got a few days of relief.  I am now going up to 7 days without even a hint of a headache, and it seems that I have come out of the FOG regarding my memory, migraines & depression!  I am able to accept my headaches and live with them, as opposed to fighting them.  I am not nearly as debilitated as I had been, and am actually back to working.  Although, it is a career change.  I am starting to enjoy life as a whole once again.  I had explained to my doc that I had never really had a love for life, just a respect.  I now have a love for life.  My excitement is never-ending.

I understand that Namenda is not for everyone, but it seems to be something that I personally have needed for a long time.  It works on chemicals that my body is not able to convert properly.

I can only pray that this continues to be an effective treatment.

Thanks for the update. What wonderful news you are see a reduction in your Migraine frequency and "fog." It sounds like a  two for one deal to me!!

Namenda is not for everyone, but we are sure glad it is helping you.  Please keep us posted, ok?

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Namenda, and the improvement it has afforded you. It gives me hope that my specialist and I will find the right combination or medication that will work for me, as well. I know we all wish your kind of new found freedom from migraines, and "fog" for everyone. Here's to more clear and pain free days!

Hopefully we can all find longer term relief.  I am waiting with baited breath, however, because after 3 1/2 months, the headaches are coming back.  The good news is that they are not nearly as debilitating as they were.  It seems I am able to continue to work with a headache.

The recurrence could also be related to the fact that I am starting to adjust to working 3rd shift with an occasional 2nd shift worked in so I am either sleeping too little or too much.  Haven't figured that all out yet.

I still remain positive that Namenda continues to work for me.  My doc also has me taking Lamictal, not sure that is doing anything though.

I have noticed a big difference in some minor dietary changes.  I am avoiding whatever free glutamates that I can, and that seems to help as well.
