PLEASE HELP
I live near PHX, just moved from Wi.
Hi Gail,
I know how frustrating it is to go to doctor after doctor, be in pain day after day. But finding the right diagnosis is so important, which may mean a new doctor.
A Migraine specialist is a doctor who devotes his entire practice to treating people with Migraine disease and headache disorders. We have a list of patient recommended specialists you can see by clicking HERE.
Have you been over to our forum for more support?
Misty,
Nancy has given you information on breaking the cycle on your migraine and when you should consider seeking more help with this go around.
I have had to work many day before, during and after a migraine attack. Each of us is different. The preventative medications effect us differently, the abortive medications impact us at the time and afterward differently and the after affects of the migraine it self is just so different for everyone. I can often work from home. Light and sound after a migraine attack are particularly troublesome to me. The type of work I do allows me that option. Not all jobs are like that.
Going over to the forums to talk with other people about what they do and how they manage their lives is wonderful support and cann give you good ideas on how to handle your job. I have not been part of the community for very long, but I don't know what I would do without the support of the people on this site. They are so wonderful and caring.
Take care. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Cindy
When we have Migraine pain lasting longer than 72 hours without a four-hour, pain-free break while awake, it could be a condition called Status Migrainous and needs immediate medical attention.
Status Migrainous - The Basics will give you more information. If your pain continues, please go to the ER or urgent care clinic, ok? Let us know how you are feeling.
