This winter has been very painful for me.
In September, as I was locking the house up before going to bed, I turned right my foot slightly to turn around and suddenly a very sharp, stabbing pain attacked me behind the knee. I could not put my foot down without extreme pain. I was able to make it to bed finally and thought I somehow had severly sprained it.
So for the next two weeks, I reduced my activity. But the pain remained. Finally, my hubby had to take me to the ER. They checked my knee and felt I had a Bakers cyst. An ultrasound was ordered at a separate building the next night. And I was directed to go see an orthopaedic surgeon.
I had an appt the following week to see him. I went and he said not a Baker's cyst but he suspected I tore my meniscus pad. So I had an X-ray done and an MRI was scheduled.
The same day after I had my MRI done, I get a call from my doc's nurse who said that I did have a torn meniscus and needed to schedule surgery. He only did surgeries on Wed so I was looking at Dec. I asked her to checked for something earlier because I couldn't stand the pain. She looked at Nov again and did find one at Nov 3.
So Nov 3, I went in and under as an outpatient. I woke up as they were wheeling me out of surgery. In recovery, my doc came to me and said that I had a lot more going on than the one meniscus tear. The other meniscus was overlapping the bone. I had bone spurs on the patella and the femur. And the cartilage was feathered and he had to fix it.
OKay, here I am healing up at home and now because of the winter sun, I am starting to get migraines. They are stabbing me over my right eyebrow as usual.
Then in the middle of the night, I wake up and sit on the edge of the bed and get hit with vertigo. Before I know it, I end up "diving" into the vertigo and pass out.
Hubby calls out my name till I come to. My head and knee are throbbing. I look down at my knee and it's bleeding. Apparently, there was a broken plastic CD case on the floor and my recently operated on knee landed on it. So I had streaks of blood across my knee.
I'm still having migraines from the bright sunlight. But I have to be more careful about where I am. Vertigo is the extreme of my migraine attacks. And I am so tired of all of them.

Oh granny,
You poor, poor thing! That is just not fair... enough is enough already. I am sending out all the cyber hugs I can, and that just doesn't seem to cut it right now, does it?
Hang in there, I'm here if you need to "chat."
There are plethora of smooshes coming your way from me, too, granny. I'm right there with Nancy. I wish I could do so much more than lend an ear, a cyber shoulder, and smooshes. But at least that's a start, right?
