Well, on top of all my other diseases and conditions (chronic pain, ice pick headaches, migraines, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, tendinitis, osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, and hands, rheumatoid arthritis, tethered spinal cord, bulging discs, degenerative discs, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, deviated septum, GERD, patellofemoral pain syndrome (chondromalacia), hearing impaired, near-sightedness, obesity (lifetime struggle mostly), and pilondial cyst surgery when I was 18), I have now been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
I feel like it is a death sentence. My first autoimmune disease. I'm on prednisone and sulfasalazine. I had x-rays done on my sacral joints to see if they are fusing together because of my back pain. I'll find out on April 4 what is going on there.
As for work, I'm not looking anymore. We are living off our savings and of course have NO insurance as we both wait for SSDI answers. Norm is waiting for confirmation and I'm waiting for a hearing date.
www.pparx.org has been a great help in my getting free meds though.
