I'm down to using morphine sulfate and MS-Contin, and still having 4 migraines a week which leave me bed-ridden, and 3 days of migraines where I can sit around doing nothing like a zombie. I do not want to live like this for the rest of my life.

    Hi there.

Are you taking any preventive medications? What kind of doctor are you seeing? I've been where you are, and the best thing I ever did for myself was get to a real Migraine specialist. With his help, I've gone from having a severe Migraine nearly every day to averaging one Migraine a month; sometimes I even get a couple of months between Migraines.

We also have a discussion forum that you may want to check out. Especially if you have questions or are looking for information, you may find the interaction on the forum to be quite helpful. To get to the forum, just look for the orange box marked "Manage" and click on the Migraine Forums link. Because our forums are maintained by a third party, you'll need to register for the forum. You can use the same information you used to create your community log-in if you like. If you want to go directly to the forum, you can click HERE.

Along with your personal "My Home" page and the discussion forum, you'll find links to a great deal of helpful information on the main page of our site, http://www.MyMigraineConnection.com.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them to the forum or send me a message through my profile.

    Welcome again,

Hi - I suffer like you -the respites aren't much at all - I know the pain management where they're trying to manage "your peaks and valleys"  - the best thing I can say is keep pushing your neuro if you have one for treatments like botox etc - possibly occipital blocks - or infusion therapy of one type or another - push your insurance company too - I am taking the big plunge and going to see Dr. Krusz in Texas.  Whatever the case - know that you are not alone -and I am throwing you a big hug

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
