Nausea + Food = ???

By Angst Friday, August 31, 2007

Okay, so here's my dilema... I'm nauseous, very nauseous. Probably a combination of an upcoming migraine, a side-effect from the triptan I took to try and save myself from it, and from the antibiotic that I just started taking again - which upsets my stomach. Eating will just make it worse, but I need to eat when I take the antibiotic, and I can't have dairy products with it, so a glass of milk is out of the question. My question to you would be to know if anyone has any suggestions of a food to eat that's easy on the stomach and easy to digest?

Thanks a bunch! Sick

Why do I bother?

Jean Bee,

Crackers with ginger ale or sprite seem to help me. Or the BRAT diet-bananas, rice, applesauce or toast.

Have you asked your doctor to prescribe you something for nausea? phenegran? only problem is it will make you sleepy.

Good luck.

Hi Yvonne,

I think the BRAT diet would probably be better than the pop - fizzy stuff doesn't agree well with me and lately, sugar's been making me feel worse. I didn't know about BRAT, but I have been having bananas galore, I feel that's the easiest thing for me to digest and it fills me up at the same time.

I haven't had a chance to see my doctor regarding that yet, I only see her at the end of the month.

Thanks for the suggestions!

When I'm dealing with that, I usually stick to saltine crackers, toast, and dry cereal. Oatmeal usually works out okay for me, too.
