Migraines & not able to work

I have talked to my attorney, and now I know my chances are slim to
none on winning for disability. I was so dissappointed that he told me
because of my age, and education, and I worked for the past 10 years at
a desk job, would hurt my case. In other words, Social Security will
say I'm able to work. I worked so hard over the past several years at
the desk job. Before that, I had crappy jobs, and went to college to
get a better paying job...

Migraine Triggers

Okay, I know what migraine triggers are. I've went months without some of these things, 6 months to be exact. Still got migraines. Now, if I was to eat chocolate or strawberries and get a migraine, then another time I can eat them and not get one right away, or that day,, then...........how do you really tell if it's a "Trigger," or not???

Thanks,

Midrin & Stomach pain?

I have been on Midrin about 3 months now. At first, it was great. But after a few times taking it, like everything else, it seems to only work a short time. Other times, I take it, and my migraine is "Poof" gone!
Has anyone taken this and had stomach cramps or pain? I just started having symptoms a month ago. I also have ate a lot of Ibuprofen, so.........who knows.
I would appreciate any feedback. I've been living with this for over 15 years...

Prayer & Migraines

I am a firm believer in prayer. Even though, there are times, it seems my faith slips, I just have to put myself back in the reality. I know that some of my friends have called this disease spiritual, or a curse of some kind. I sometimes get angry with others because, they have NO idea what real pain a migraine is! My blood boils and I know my BP must rise. Why can't they get it? Well, then I tell myself, life isn't always fair, but we have to...

My Everyday

In my everyday, my mind is fuzzy but one thing is clear,I feel terrible and the migraine is here.I feel so alone with this pain, and I know it's part of my everyday.But..I can't help wonder all the more I could do, If I didn't feel this way, I could run and dance too. It's like a hammer pounding on the side of my head, all I do is watch TV and stay in my bed.I don't want pity, but just others to see, This pain is real, but it...

Migraines & Disability

I don't know how many have went through this besides me, but I was forced to quit my job in july of last year. I was missing work, and with FMLA papers signed, they couldn't fire me. However, after missing hours, and being taken down to part time, I had a boss who expected full time work from me. So......I was written up, and I confided in her about trying for disability. I had been having to lie my head down, and miss work, leave early...

Finding a good Neurologist

I really don't know why it seems so hard to find the right doctors. I love my family doctor. I've been with him 2 years now. He really is awesome! He seems to really care about me. However, in my hometown, it seems so hard to find a neurologist that gives a ........! Most of them just look at me, like "So, what do you want me to do?", It's always, take this medicine, and then this, and that. I finally found a new one that...

sunglasses

Does anyone know where to find the kind of sunglasses that you can wear indoors with a migraine? There are some that you can wear, which won't ruin your eyes, or strain them. But....not sure where to buy them.

Staying Hopeful

Hello to everyone. I live with migraines everyday. There may be a good day now and then, but it's not been too often. So far, I'm still searching for those preventive medications. The last year has been terrible for me. I had to give up my career. Thank God for a wonderful boyfriend, and a supportive family that I have. If anyone has advice, I could use it. I would like to say, I cannot take any triptans, such as Maxalt, Zomig, or...
