Weather conditions?

By Calla Sunday, March 30, 2008
I'm curious to know if anyone is doing research into weather conditions affecting migraines.  My husband noticed that many times, I get a severe migraine attack when there is a significant change in the weather.  Living in Springfield Mo. (the heart of the Ozarks where if you don't like the weather, wait a day, it'll change) certainly offers me no end of changes in weather conditions.  Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Yes, weather can be a migraine trigger.  They are not for me, but they are for many people.  Toward the top of the screen you'll see a bar for "Mange", click on that and you'll see a drop down menu that include Migraine Triggers.  In that area you'll see inforamtion on migraines triggered by weather changes.

Hope you find the information helpful.  Also under Manage is "Migraine Forum"  come on over and join us!!

I whole heartedly believe that when the weather gets bad so does the pain. My migraines, the daily headaches, as well as my Fibromyalgia are aggravated by the cold, damp weather. I live in So. California so I don't suffer as long with this, but I do remember when I lived in Springfield, Mo., as a child, the constant change in weather would aggravated my ocular, as well as my regular migraines. The months that the weather is bad, in San Diego, I am permanately attached to the space heater till April. During the winter I feel like I have a constant "toothache" in my whole body, as well as an increase in the early morning migraines. I know words can't make your suffering go away, but may you find the strength to hang on for those beautiful sunny days.

I believe that when the pressure changes, especially a drop, I will get a migraine. It feels like it is going to be sinus then the jokes on me it is a full blown migraine. We live in the Bay Area, California.

Yes, change in weather does cause a migraine to come on. If I go from Air-conditioning to HOT temperatures, I will get a sudden migraine. Or vice-versa. It's really weird. But, it is a trigger. There's not a lot you can do, if you have to go out. But, on hot days, I would try to avoid the heat.

Good luck.
