MRI versus CT

Not that it's tough but hard to describe. CT's and MRI's are different, but yet sort of the same. MRI's are a more "in depth" look at what a CT may not have picked up on - seeing it a lot now for breast treatments to pick up on early warning. Although CT's are now able to view in 3D imaging with additional views - it still may not see all that an MRI would.

I work for a radiology and MRI group and even I find it hard to explain the differences. Sorry if this was no help. They are different test, MRI is more in depth.

What does your doctor say about the cyst? Does he think it has anything to do with your headpain? That may explain why your pain is not repsonding to medication.

On the other hand if you have Migraine disease, a genetic neurologic disorder, you may need preventive medication having that many attacks a month.

Medication Overuse Headache occurs when we take certain medications including some OTC medications more than 2-3 times during the week. If you are taking Imitrex more often than that depakote or any other preventive medication won't help your Migraine attacks.

With the endocrine issues you mentioned I would consider seeing a Migraine specialist who is an expert that treats headache disorders and Migraine disease.
