Wanting to Relate-Is there anybody out there

By bubbasfriend Saturday, March 26, 2011

Ok...So I am new here and was just wondering if anyone else has ever had a similar experience as I have with migraine.  I have had a constant wooziness/dizziness, sensitivity to light, confusion, word retrieval problems, forgetfulness, disoriented feeling, for the past three years.  I was just told recently that this is migraine.  Everywhere I have read about migraine, I hear people talk about migraines being associated with headaches, which I have, but my other symptoms are much more bothersome and much more present.  If anyone else has experienced this what, if anything helped.  THESE SYMPTOMS ARE CONSTANT.  They vary in their strength but are always there.  Anyone relate?

The main thing I wanna know is that I am not the only one feeling these things.  It would give me some hope if I knew I wasn't alone.

Most people I know who have chronic migraines have some level of other migraine symptoms most, if not all, of the time.  Espeically for a few days after a migraine attack.  I'm perpetually light/sound sensitive, and for a day or two after an attack, I'm more so than usual.

As for the other stuff being worse than the pain, that happens to me too.  I actully rate my pain and other symptoms separatley in my migraine diary because though I may be having mininmal pain, the nausea and dizziness has totally laid me out.

Obviously, you should talk to your doctor if you are having this all the time.  If for nothing else than so your doctor knows how much impact this is having on your life.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

You've come to the right place - there are lots and lots of people who can share similar stories and experiences.

To get a good handle on what a Migraine is, Anatomy of a Migraine  is a wonderful place to start. But I must say, having constant aura can happen and is rare, but is certainly not "typical" day in and day out. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Thank you for creating a SharePost. SharePosts are a form of blogging, and there are many things you can do with them. You can share an experience, suggest something that's helped you, use SharePosts as a Migraine and headache journal, and many other things.

We also have a discussion forum that you may want to check out. Especially if you have questions or are looking for information, you may find the interaction on the forum to be quite helpful. Hello, I'm new here as well, and that is how my migraine diagnosis was made.  I started feeling really dizzy and nauseous all through the day, I couldn't sit still, watch TV or even read a book!  At the beginning I had a slight headache, but it was nothing compared to the lightheadness and nausea.  I would be talking and could not make the words come out, I knew what I wanted to say but just couldn't find the words.  This can be really annoying, it makes me seem like an idiot when I'm talking to someone.  I've been told that it could be migraines, or peri-menopause.  I must say that the symptoms are worse right before my period.  I see my neurologist regularly to see if we can find a medication that will help with all the symptoms but as of yet I have had no luck.

I wish you luck in finding something that will help with your symptoms.
