Injured on Wednesday

By happyarch Wednesday, March 05, 2008

Well this has been an exciting -- or should I say interesting week. I was suffering Sunday and Monday and really started to feel better Monday evening. So, on Tuesday I decided to go for the gusto.

I have become very inactive since I stopped working. I spend a lot of time in bed and find it difficult to do a lot of exercise. We've been doing a 1/2 hour hill walk several times a week, but when that's the only exercise and movement you get, it's not that effective.

So, yesterday I decided to extend my walk. We live on a big hill - or small mountain - so any walking we do involves going up and down. I did a big loop. It took me 1 hr 23 mins 34 seconds and I took 3545 steps. It felt good but it also hurt a lot. Oh, I forgot to mention I also tried rebounding Monday evening.

My foot was a little tender as I started but I persevered. I only walked as fast as I could without triggering a migraine -- yes exercise is one of my migraine triggers. I walked through the foot pain, thinking it would go away.

Well today I'm in a lot of pain. My foot is incredibly sore. I guess that's what you get when you try to do too much. The good thing is that my foot pain is taking my mind off my head pain.

I was happy about the walk because my head pain hasn't been too bad. The Lyrica is really letting me join life again. I really hope that it will continue.

I am still waking up with my 4 am migraine, even though I increased the dosage of the Lyrica in the evenings. I didn't take any T3s yesterday and have continued this today. I suspect the 4 am migraines might be rebound headaches, which is why I have stopped taking them. I'm finding the muscle relaxants / anti-inflamatories are keeping the headache at bay. When it gets really bad I take a Zomig.

So, today I'm resting. Doing a lot of reading, listening to audiobooks and playing Sudoku. I will try my walk again tomorrow - if my foot feels better. :)
