Frustration

By Aileen Putnam Sunday, October 21, 2007
I am so sick of having these headaches. They are slowly increasing in frequency and pain levels. I dont know what to do. I get so depressed by them. And the funny part is that I use an anti-depressant to help treat them. Isnt that laughable! I wish that I could find a doctor that actually cares. Hopefully I can find a neurologist in this new city I live in. I think im afraid to see a doctor cause they will either think im lying or tell me im dying or do what other doctors have done. Give me something that makes it worse. The last time I went to the ER cause the pain was so bad the doctor gave me Imitrex. I told them it wouldnt work. I took it years ago and it didnt help. What did they do? They gave me the injection anyway and it intesified my migraine so bad that I was uncontrollably crying. Im usually emotionally frozen so me crying is a big deal. And what did they do? Nothing, they left me in a room in severe pain. My head felt like it was on fire on top of my migraine. God i am sick of stupid people. Right now I have taken most of my normal meds and they are proving ineffective on this migraine so i guess i have to move on to my fall backs and crawl to bed in the hopes that i can sleep. Maybe I will be brave enough to find a new doctor tomorrow.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I can hear the frustration in your SharePost, Aileen. Hang in there. Here is some information that may help.

Migraine is a genetic neurological disease that at times is exhausting and frustrating.

Anti-depressants are often used to treat Migraines since depression can occur with Migraine disease. If you have more than 3-4 Migraine attacks a month it is time to think about taking preventive medications. If you are taking preventives, and still getting too many attacks then it's time to re-evaluate your plan.  There are many  medications to try, it just takes time to find the right one.

A Migraine specialist an expert in headache disorders and Migraine disease and the best doctor to see when dealing with Migraines. Here is an interesting quiz to find out if your doctor is the "right one" for you.
