Symptoms

By Aileen Putnam Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Im trying to determine if anyone else might have migraines that are precipitated by a throbbing on one side of the neck. Ive been reading about all the types of migraine diagnosis out there and none have the neck throbbing pain that i seem to get. Any ideas anyone?
Finally getting there

I get a stiff neck from migraine sometimes. I think I had only what I can call a "neck migraine" this weekend. I call it that because it was from the base of my skull to the L of my shoulder, not in my eye or head where migraine usually hits me. Very strange.

I go to the Dr. on Thurs and I am asking him if this is actually a migraine because it was not in my head/eye.

If it is along with migraine, I get that all the time, stiff or throbbing pain in the neck area - it comes on like that for me when it starts as TTH.

Sometimes I get a "gurgling" feeling in the right side of my neck prior to my migraines.  It's not realy a pain. The best way to describe it is to compare it to the feeling in my stomach when it growls.  It's wierd because this "gurgling" is on the right side and my migraine pain is always on theleft side of my head and left eye.  I frequently "crack" my neck during migraines because I get a dull pain in the left side of my neck after it starts.  The neck "cracking" sometimes gives me momentary relief for a few seconds.  This is indeed a strange disorder.
