Hello, I have been recently diagnosed with migraines. I have kind of known that I get migraines beacuse it runs in my family. Now I am worried that I am going to give to my daughter. I have been getting these headaches since high school. The last bad migraine I have had was when we went to our senior trip to Florida. On the last day that we were down there I had woken up with a very bad headache. So I figuired if I eat or take a shower the headaches would go away. I could not stand anyone talking to me, the lights hurt my eyes very bad. And tylenol never helped me so I got that excedrin migraine took it and sleeped on the way to the beach. It was gone by the time we got there.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
Migraine is a genetic neurologic disease. If the disease is on one side of the family, there is a 50% chance of it being passed down to children, and 75% chance if it is on both sides of the family.
When we are first diagnosed with Migraine disease, it can be very confusing. Learning About Migraines and Headaches - Where To Start is a wonderful first step in educating yourself about Migraines.
Identifying and managing any Migraine triggers is very important. Food, weather changes and changes in our sleeping patterns can all trigger a Migraine. Click HERE for our Migraine trigger page.
