Wednesday night I got a migraine. I had only 1 imitrex left and no way to get more. I took it because usually that will take care of my migraine until the next one hits. Well the next day around 1 pm it came back. I just suffered through it, I hate going to the ER. That night I took 2 benadry so I could sleep. Friday I had an appointment with my neuro. She gave me 4 samples of 100g of imitrex. I usually cut my 50 mg in half due to the funy feeling I get, so I was happy for the samples. They are expired but her and a pharmacist reassured me that they are fine maybe a little less effetive but safe. Well today I fell like I was partying yesterday. My stomach feels queesy and there is pressure in my head. I really want to get my thyroid tested but all the doctors say its not my thyroid because perfumes can trigger an attack. I just pray to god that my girls don't suffer like this....

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
While it is true that perfume can trigger a Migraine attack in some people, but I'm not sure what perfume has to do with having your thyroid levels checked. In fact, thyroid disease is known to be a comorbid condition with headaches and Migraines. Meaning, they occur at the same time, but are independent of each other. Migraine, Headache, and Thyroid will give you great information.
Having a doctor who will listen to your concerns is paramount in our health care. If your questions and concerns are being dismissed, it may be time to find another one. We have a quiz that helps determine if your doctor is right for you. Click HERE to take it.
The "hangover" you are feeling may be the postdrome phase of your Migraine attack. This can occur immediately following the headache phase. Some people have described postdrome just like you have, a "hangover," others feel like a "zombie." Anatomy of a Migraine discussed the four phases of a Migraine attack.
Migraine is a genetic neurologic disease. Therefore,if you are the only parent with Migraine disease, your girls have a 50% chance of inheriting it. The percentage is 75% if both parents have Migraines.
