Hi everyone. I am a young adult living in the rainshine state- south, Florida. As most of you know- "tropical storm" fay just passed through and lasted about 3 days.

Now, my mother (being a migraine sufferer) had an attack as soon as the low pressure system started coming through. I at the time was staying w my boyfriend. I am very social and need little sleep. but he and i both noticed how sleepy i was one day when i woke (late) and later fell asleep early... and this continued for about 3-4 days. during the strom.

It is normal for me to have migraines, like my mother, during storms. (and i did on the 2nd day)(and never again during) But the extreme tiredness is a new thing for me. could it have been my bodys preventitive method? does this happen to anyone else?

Rainy weather is a sure trigger for my migraines----and sometimes I do get extremely sleepy.  I call it a sign/aura/etc, because it usually means a migraine is on its way--and sleep is usually the best thing for me :-)

I live in North Carolina and it has been raining here for three days straight. Weather is one of my most annoying triggers bc I have no control. I notice that before I get really bad migraines I start yawning a lot and feeling drowsy. Dunno why but I agree with the post above - it's my bodies way of telling me that I'm about to feel like crap

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I'm not sure if it was your "bodys preventitive method" but fatigue can be part of a Migraine attack.  There are four phases of a Migraine: prodrome, aura, headache and postdrome. Not everyone experiences each phase the same way or each phase during their attacks. For more information on a Migraine attack you can read this article Anatomy of a Migraine.

I also suffer from the migraine/barometric pressure syndrome. Weather changes, along with the full moon always bring the headache on.  I keep the full moon dates highlighted on my calendar, as a reminder.   After the headache finally leaves, I am then lethargic for 2 days.

I've just realized there was a full moon Friday when I woke with the beginning of a 2+ day/night migraine.  I've also noticed before that really dry air and static sparks off everything seem to coincide with migraines.  I'm going to start tracking the moom cycles a bit more and do more research.
