A Migraine Patient's 30 Days of Gratitude 2013 - Introduction & Index

  • Being a Migraine or headache patient can make it difficult to stay positive, particularly during the holidays when we deal with daily stress and the constant reminders of what illness has taken away from us, our families, and our loved ones.

Looking for things to be thankful for can change how we see everyday life though. It can be an important part of our daily Migraine and headache management program and how we deal with our invisible illnesses.

I decided to share my journal for the 30 days of November because we often think of November as the month to be thankful. On the days I miss, Teri is going to share hers with you as well.

Most of you already know Teri, but since I am new here, I wanted this to be a chance for you not only to see a gratitude journal in action, but also to get to know me as a person and a patient - just like you. The HealthCentral Migraine community is your home, and I'm wanting to make it my home as well as fit in as a part of your online family.

Migraine JournalI also hope you'll take it as a challenge from one patient to another... Why don't you make a journal for November, or even from Thanksgiving to Christmas, Hanukkah or whichever winter date you choose?!

Start wherever you are in the month! It's okay if you don't feel like writing every day. I can't do that either. Let's just do the best we can, then at the end of the 30 days, we can go back, review what we've felt and what it's done for the strength and hope we need to survive a chronic illness that causes us pain that few others can understand. Maybe you'll even feel like sharing it with the community by making a SharePost for the day or commenting on mine and Teri's. This can really help inspire others who are struggling and looking for a way to be more positive for themselves and their loved ones.

This post will act as an index for all of Teri's and my gratitude SharePosts, so you won't miss a single one!

    Ready. Set. GO!

    Live your best life,
