I was diagnosed with migraines when I was nine years old. For awhile, they were just a couple times a year. Then they became monthly, and before too much longer, were even more frequent. There have been episodes where I would only have 1 or 2 migraine free days in a month. I have had some episodes where I blackout, lose memory, have speech problems, ect. Whenever I try to explain this to people, they always have a "suggestion". It usually involves a CT scan or something of the like. However, I have had CT Scans, EEG, Spinal Taps, MRIs, Sleep Studies, done the journal thing, taken over 20 prevenitives, and well over 30 different treatment meds. I have been rushed to the hospital because of Doctors giving me too much of these meds, and I have suffered through not having any. In the end, only a stric regimine helps along with narcotics (when a doctor has mercy enough to perscribe them). I have two toddlers that need me, and I have to fight to be there for them. I live with a medical bracelet because I quite possibly could need it (again). I so want to find people who know how I feel, and don't pretend to because they think it helps me. I want to find people who know the difference between a migraine and a tension headache. I want to find people who also want to slap people who "claim" to have migraines when it is simply a bad headache. I want suggestions from those who know, not those who think they know. I want to offer these things to others.
