Topamax and B2

By joicou Tuesday, February 03, 2009

I have been on Topamax for a year and have noticed a significant amount of hair thinning. I have recently lost my health insurance and my Doctor has put me on B2 to control my migraines has anyone heard of this working?

Hi, joicou! I don't take Topamax, but I have been taking butterbur and extra B2 as well as vitamin D, and I have enjoyed a reduction in the number of migraine attacks I've had over the last three to four months. I don't have any experience with taking just B2, but the only way you can find out for yourself is to try.

You have to be patient with any medication or supplement and they say take it for two to three months to see if it's helping. I always want to see a difference immediately and become impatient if I don't. But if you can be patient and keep working with your doctor, hopefully you will soon find what helps you. Everyone is different, and that makes it even harder to figure out what our best course of action is.

Also, it took me too long to realize that if I tried more than one thing at a time, I couldn't tell which was helping or hurting!

Wishing you well in your search for improvement!

Betsy
