pain and darkness- a poem

lying in the darkness of my room,
trying to fight the pain.

there's also darkness deep within,
a darkness so black, it can only be depression.

Sick of trying to smile through my pain,
I'm just not that strong.

If it weren't for my loving husband,
the darkness would completely consume me.

As it is, I hang on to a gossamer thread of hope,
that one day I shall be free.

Free of the pain,

frustration!

After being told that I wouldnt go further in the PFO study, I was referred to an arrythmia specialist. He told me he thought I had a form of dysautonomia called "P.O.T.S" which is often comorbid with migraines. He sent me to my Canadian neurologist, who referred me to another specialist to get the test done to DX. I was made to believe the test was june 12, so the neuro told me to get off topamax, since I had to be med free for the test.

a PFO journey

On October 31st, Dr Marek Gawel *neurologist* took his time examining me, and at the end of the exam, asked me if I had a PFO. I said "not that I know of" He said " I have a feeling you have one, would you consider being in a study?" I said sure. So he promptly brought in his PFO research coordinator, who works in the same building. and she explained PFO's. And the study. But I was moving to Quebec. So She made me promise...

dead inside

I am on day 2 of a hemiplegic migraine, and I'm currently experiencing a feeling of nothingness.. just black and empty. Im really frightened. Right now im bordering on thinking suicidal thoughts. The only thing that keeps me going is love *from my husband, inlaws and you guys* and the promise of seeing a top neuro in 20 days. The words from a song are trotting through my mind " no! you gotta find a way to survive cause they win when...

in status migrainous AGAIN!

Hey all,
I am in status migrainous once again. About to go to hospital ER like a good little migraineur does on day 3 or 4 of a migraine! I'm finding this hard to deal with. Very bad, pain at least 9 out of 10, persistant vertigo*dizziness* even a weird taste when I eat anything, not to mention the added fun of ice pick headaches that are attacking at least 10 times daily during the past 3 or 4 days. Neck is very stiff and sore and face...

Pain, nausea, missing hubby right now *and hes only at work!* coupled with hurt over my mother's utter lack of caring or understanding, I'm just a bundle of crying*which im sure makes the mig worse.* I am praying for an end to this, no matter how! I hate being like this. I'm physically shaking from the pain and the tears, my tummy is one big knot. I just need a shoulder to cry on, a...
