    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

We are so glad you found us and yes, we can absolutley help you. First thing that needs to be done is to "fire that doctor's sorry butt" Laughing! Any doctor who says you or your life, or job is the cause of Migraines is sorely misinformed.  Migraine is a genetic neurologic disease caused by overactive neurons in our brains and genetics. Clearly genetics play a role in your case because your mom and son both have Migraines.

Really, don't give that doctor another thought - he is so wrong. What you need is an accurate diagnosis and a Migraine specialist is the way to go. We have a specialist in MD you may be interested in checking out: HERE is our directory. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? for more helpful information.

Thank you for creating a SharePost. SharePosts are a form of blogging, and there are many things you can do with them. You can share an experience, suggest something that's helped you, use SharePosts as a Migraine and headache journal, and many other things.

We also have a discussion forum that you may want to check out. Especially if you have questions or are looking for information, you may find the interaction on the forum to be quite helpful. To get to the forum, just look for the orange box marked "Manage" and click on the Migraine Forums link. Because our forums are maintained by a third party, you'll need to register for the forum. You can use the same information you used to create your community log-in if you like. If you want to go directly to the forum, you can click HERE.

Along with your personal "My Home" page and the discussion forum, you'll find links to a great deal of helpful information and a spot to sign up for our free newsletter on the main page of our site, http://www.MyMigraineConnection.com.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them to the forum or send me a message through my profile.

    Welcome again,

Hi all,  So far its been a week since I have had even a twinge of a headache!  So as far as that goes, all is well for now. Tongue out No word yet from my reg doc.  I checked with them on Thursday, the nuero hasn't transscribe them yet so they should be getting the records soon.

My employeer, on the other hand tried to tell me that migrains can't be under FMLA. I told her that I would check into it because I can't afford to go to part time or worse.

That is ridiculous. Don't even question yourself about that doctor. I'm not even involved and I'm offended by his actions. I'm sorry that he tried to make you feel like your migraines are your fault. I hope you find someone you can feel comfortable with. -I tried visits with 3 different doctors and p.a's before I found one that I jived with. Good luck in your search with someone who will not prescribe Oprah as the best treatment!

No you are not wrong for feeling the way you do after visiting him. His bedside manner sucks and I would have told him (I have in the past as I was walking out on him). Did he forget he was working for you. People need to understand not everyone needs a therapist! Just because you don't like your job doesn't mean you can't handle it. Maybe he needs to quit his job or get a migraine for an hour. Hang in there girl. You will find one with some sense.

    God Bless.

i learned from the same situation that we, as patients, we have to be the mastery over our care.  we have to not settle for low care for people not willing to work for use.  we have to fight and demand the right to be care for.  we are the patients.   we are the ones that are sick.  we need to demand respect and concern when we pay for a service of care.

I think I saw the last of that doctor, I made a visit to my doctor yesterday and his mouth fell to the floor when I told him how my visit went.  I really thought I was crazy when I left his office.

Thanks for all the support it makes me feel better to know I am not the only person out there that has migrains like these.

    Tammy :)
