Hello all
After reading about what a Status Migrain is I am very upset. First let me give you a little background. This migrain has been going for more than 6 weeks. The doctor that I am with has referred me out due to me being over her head (which I understand). I have Basilar Autery Migrains. According to the artical if you have not had 4 hours of non pain during waking hours you need to be seen. I have done that, as a matter of fact in one week I was seen in the ER three times! This doctor had her nurse treat me with a Depakot IV later the next week. But since they put in a referral for me to go to the next DR. they will not treat me any more. Now I have to wait till Sept 15th to be seen by the next DR. All I have is the prevt meds Topmax and Nuranton and my breakthrough med Maxal (please excuse the spelling) to get me through the long painful days. There are some days I can't even get out of the bed. I have four kids and a work full time. You would think that one of these DRs would care enough to not keep me or others in limbo!
