I'm new here, but migraines are an old nemesis. My fist migraine hit when I was 11.
I got to this site by following Teri Robert. Went to About.com because of a link in her book. She was gone! Glad I found her here.
Teri, if you're reading this -- I cannot thank you enough for your book and what you've written online. You have changed my life! I was one of those mousey little patients who believed anything a doctor told me. After all, they were doctors! I felt like one of those cartoon characters with a light bulb above my head or slapping myself in the forehead as I read your book. DUH! Doctors are human too, not gods. They don't know everything. Your book started me learning about migraine disease and not accepting BS answers. I fired my doctor and the next doctor and the next. The next one I found is a keeper. He listens, respects that I want to learn and take part in the decision making. I still have too many migraines, but not as many as I did and am confident we will continue to make progress.
I'm here to continue reading and learning -- from the best!
Thank you, Teri!!
gratefully,
Rhonda

Rhonda, I know exactly what you mean. Teri has been a wonderful resource for me, too. I found her through the M.A.G.N.U.M. website (migraines.org). They have a forum, as well, and it is much easier on the eyes than this one. Although, I came here because Teri told me it was here, and that she didn't visit the other one as often as she'd like. Yes, I am both photo- and phono-sensitive when I'm in migraine mode, which sometimes seems like all the time, lol.
Take care, I know we'll run across each other again.
