I guess I've had migraines since I was around 13 but was told it was sinus headaches/migraines. I had sinus surgery when I was about 18. It helped for about 2 yrs but the symptoms came back and got worse and I noticed it got worse around my menstrual cycle. I finally broke down and saw a neurologist about 2-3 years ago and he diagnosed me with migraines which happen to be triggered more around my periods. So I'm on a maintenance plan and have been able to tone down the severity of my migraine pain and the number of times I get them. I've also worked w/ my OB and gotten on a birth control that cuts my periods back to once every three months which helps tremendously as well since the hormones are leveled out 3 months at a time rather than bouncing all over the walls. I'll never be cured but I have found help.
