Chronic daily migraines turn into something else...

By Solta Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Over the last few months my near daily migraines have significantly lessened.  The only thing that really was changed is that I am now being treated for reflux with Omeprazole.  Either my body changed itself or the medication did.  I am not complaining!  They are still weekly with more than one a week common.  The change is the number of migraine free days between the pain.  It is often 2-4 days!  Excederine now treats my regular person headaches.  Odder yet is that my "regular person" headaches are not triggering migraine.  So I might have some head pain but no neurological junk with it.  That is really great as it means I feel a lot better on my headache free days.   I now try an NSAID or excederine at onset as often it stops the pain in its tracks.  Before if I did that, the headache might leave but the neuro stayed and 6 hours later I would have a MONSTER headache.  So, a mystery there.  But, it is amazing!

Well isn't that good news! More pain free days is always a good thing!!

Careful of Excedrin and MOH (medication overuse headache) ok? No more than two days a week or you may be in trouble. Medication Overuse Headache -  When the Remedy Backfires has updated information in it you might want to take a look at.

Good luck

Nancy
