    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I can absolutely understand where you are coming from. It absolutely stinks. But I think it may be time to take charge your health care and see a Migraine specialist. After seeing their specialist, some people may go two, three or more MONTHS between Migraines. Teri Robert, patient advocate, writer and Lead Expert on this wrote a wonderful book for Migraineurs. To read about her battle against Migraine disease, take a look at Excerpt 2 - "Living Well With Migraine Disease and Headaches". It truly is amazing.

Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special?  is an article that every Migraineur should read. See, here's the thing, neurologists, who are fine doctors, treat so many different conditions, like MS, stroke and epilepsy, it is hard for them to be experts in any one area. A Migraine specialist treats one disorder - ours- Migraine disease and headaches. You might want to think of it like this; when a pipe under your kitchen sink breaks the expert is called - a plumber. You could call a handyman who could also fix your toilet, doors, floors and whatnot. But he isn't an expert in any one area. A Migraine specialist is the expert - when your head hurts call him!  If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Anyone who has three or more Migraines a month needs to be talking with their doctor about prevention. There's growing evidence that Migraine is a progressive brain disease. A recent study showed that Migraines can cause brain damage, and that people with three or more Migraines a month are more susceptible to this damage. For more information, see Is Migraine a Progressive Brain Disease? and Yes, Migraines Can Cause Brain Damage.
