I'm really sensitive to a couple of things consistently: sound and smell, though not as intensely as when I am in the middle of a migraine. (Then, I cannot stand ANY sound or ANY touch or ANY smell.) I have thought the daily thing is perhaps a part of my NDPH or a side-effe...

Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 02:42 AMCheck out this site if you have not done so: http://www.ctds.info/noise-sensitivity.html. I've ran across your posts while searching for hypersensitity toward sound and smell causing sleep disorders. Your symptons may be related.
Of course always use precaution and make your own judgements when trying something new.

Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 11:48 PMReading your comment was like a scene out of my own life, right down to not caring for chocolate. I do feel like people look at me as being a big baby and though I wouldn't wish my condition on anyone I do wish they understood. If only chemical sensitivity were as prevalent as a toothache or muscle spasm; at least most people would know what we're talking about. I'm scared to leave the house sometimes, and dread the arrival of magazines in my mailbox. Maybe one day there will be a means to relieve our symptoms.

for so long i thought i was alone with the super sensitive hearing, and smell.
unfortunatly for me they are usually precursors to a migraine.
take saturday night for example. i work nights at wal-mart. around 2ish sunday morning, we had customers 3 or4 checkouts over talking, and i could hear them plain as day.... and they were whispering.
the ummmmm drunk that came in for smokes breath nearly got ME drunk!!!! it was gross......
got to work sunday night, and by 1 am monday i was nearly in tears. it was bad enough that my boss ( who also gets migraines) wouldn't let me go home, she said i could call for a ride, but i couldn't drive until daybreak. ( i go through a mainly rural area, with no cars, and i didn't have my cell phone). so at 7 i went home and to the DR. who gave me a shot and fussed because i ran out of meds, and hadn't called for refills.
but it is nice to know i am not alone with the overactive senses
