hi everyone

By Lisa Tuesday, May 15, 2012

just thought i'd read and see if anyone had any similar stories or experiencies to mine..i'm a chronic migraine sufferer..about 10 years now i guess. i am 29. a few years ago i was diagnosed with arnold chiari malformation. i was having blackouts and migraines just about daily. last year i had posterior fossa decompression surgery. at the same time i was diagnosed with that i also found out i had spina bifida..so they also removed three of my vertebra. after my recovery the surgery seemed to have helped drastically for about three months...then everything went right back to the way it was. i am still on every bit of medication i ever was on. the migraines are full force. i began a botox treatment last friday for my migraines. 31 injections in my head, face and neck every three months...we'll see how this works  ??

Migraine Question of the Week - What Causes Aphasia?

Hello, and welcome to HealthCentral's Migraine Community!

I'm so glad you found us, but sorry you are in pain. You certainly have a lot going on and must be very frustrated. I wonder if you've seen a "true" Migraine specialist? See the thing is that neurologists may be fine doctors, but have a hard time being experts in one area. This is because they treat so many conditions like MS, epilepsy and stroke. A Migraine specialist is just that, an expert who treats one condition - ours - Migraines and headache disorders. When you get a chance, take a look at article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists. Maybe one of these doctors can help get you going in the right direction.

Thank you for creating a SharePost. SharePosts are a form of blogging, and there are many things you can do with them. You can share an experience, suggest something that's helped you, use SharePosts as a Migraine and headache journal, and many other things.

We also have a discussion forum that you may want to check out. Especially if you have questions or are looking for information, you may find the interaction on the forum to be quite helpful. To get there, go to the Migraine home page and look on the left hand side where you'll see a row of boxes. The Forum box is at the very bottom. Click on it and scroll down to the bottom of that page, and you will see the log-in spot. Because our forums are maintained by a third party, you'll need to register for the forum. You can use the same information you used to create your community log-in if you like. If you want to go directly to the forum, you can click HERE.

Along with your personal "My Home" page and the discussion forum, you'll find links to a great deal of helpful information on the main page of our site, http://www.MyMigraineConnection.com. Under the Find, Manage, and Connect tabs on the left side each page, you’ll find a wealth of information – educational articles, tips, quizzes, workbooks, support and advocacy information, and more.
