On Wednesday June 6th, 2007 I was put on a new medication called Gabapentin. I was on Topamax but am no longer because it ended up not helping me. And now on Day #2 of Gabapentin. So far I haven't noticed any bad side effects. But I"m not quit sure what to expect like I did with the Topamax. Though I did read the responses to the question I asked on the forum and i'm so glad for the responses, Because now I will be aware of whawt to expect if I were to have any of them.
I have been taking Gabapentin for 2 months for the treatment of PHN (post herpetic neuraligia) following shingles. So far I haven't had a single migraine. I have suffered with migraine for over 25 years, sometimes as many as 3 a week. So this is a good side effect for me of Gabapentin, although I still have the PHN!

I have had so many side affects from it. I see double and I don't really see colors the way I use to. OK an example is a squirrel passed by while I was standing there with a friend and I said. "look how cool an albino squirrel" Well it was not an albino squirrel. I also work in New York City and I noticed that when there are a lot of people around me I tend be dizzy and I really don't walk straight. In addition to all this, I see double half of the time. I usually happens when I'm at work looking at the computer screen for over an hour. I'm running out of medications to help me. I'm also still getting Migraines. GOOOD LUCK!!!!!
You should probably stop taking it and call your doctor..
