Chronic Fatigue vs. Lazy

Abby Community Member May 01, 2007
  • Some people talk about Laziness And I can see that some people actually are. But for some reason it bother's me because I actually have Chronic fatigue and it bother's me because I don't think that some people realize the difference and remember the difference and take into consideration when they talk to other's. That they could hurt other people's feeling. I think they need to pay careful attention to see if they really are lazy or if they really are tired. Because their is a huge difference between being lazy and having chronic fatigue.

    Oh, Abby,

Do I ever know how you feel! I know my DH & DD's think I'm just lazy when I come home from work (Teaching Assistant for Special Needs Middle Schoolers) & collapse for a nap before I can run errands, do chores, etc.

It's especially bad if I have a migraine on top of it and/or have gone off my supplements....

Today, I've a head cold/allergy attack, too, so am next to useless. Did get kitchen cleaned, supper cooked (frozen shrimp alfredo) & iced tea made (sweet and unsweet.) But, didn't pay taxes on 1 vehicle, or pay power bills, or, or, or...!

Hang in there, Abby! We'll make it through!

    Hey Abby,

Good point here--there's a big difference between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and just not being very motivated.

Karen Lee Richards, one of the experts on ChronicPainConnection.com just wrote a great article on the term Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and the push to rename it  "Myalgic Encephalopathy" or ME.  You can find it here:...
