Well...on day 12 of the headache, I find that my MRI is clear, and the word from my pcp is keep on trying the zomig and if you don't get any relief, make a neurology appt. This sounds ok until you realize that I am again where I was several years ago. It has really probably been 2-3 years since I have gone more than 1 day headache free. Some days are worse than others, but none are really good. I make it to work almost every day, so I know I am better off than many. I'm just tired of feeling bad. Whiny, whiny whiny. What a whiner I sound like. Guess I'm looking for sympathy, but really I'd just like some relief. I'm back to the back dr. tomorrow for f/u on a couple of herniated cervical disks. Maybe if that was under control other things would get better. I have started this so I can keep up with how I am feeling. When you have pain every day, one day is just like another, and before you know it, another year has gone by and things are no better. I would like to find someone who could make some good med adjustments. Maybe my old neurologist has learned some new tricks in the last few years. I guess it's worth a try.

Hello,
You said "headache." Is it safe to assume that this is a Migraine attack? Has it been the same Migraine for 12 days? When the pain of a Migraine goes for more than 72 hours without at least a four-hour pain-free break, while awake, that's status Migrainousus, and it should be treated as an emergency because it increases risk of stroke. If that's your situation, please see Status Migrainous - The Basics.
Did you know that Zomig can cause medication overuse headache, aka rebound if used more than two or three days a week?
It sounds like you could benefit from seeing an acutal Migraine specialist. If you want to look for one, check our listing of Patient recommended headache and Migraine specialists.
Hope you feel better soon,
